Partial payments, advances and dues
Real tenants pay in real patterns: half now and half after payday, two months in advance, or a little late. Homly's per-tenant ledger keeps all of it exact.
Partial payments
Record any amount against a tenant's dues. The ledger shows what was billed, what was received and the precise balance — so "he paid something around the 10th" becomes "₹4,500 received on the 10th, ₹3,500 outstanding".
Advances
When a tenant pays ahead, the advance sits on their ledger and offsets future dues automatically. Nothing to remember at the next billing cycle.
Overdue follow-ups
Dues past their date show as overdue, and reminders keep going out on WhatsApp automatically. You can see at a glance who is how many days late, and step in personally only where it matters.
Why this beats a spreadsheet
Every number on the ledger is tied to a dated transaction with a receipt. When a tenant disputes an amount — or a parent asks for the history — you show the ledger instead of reconstructing months of chat messages.
