Set up Homly in 10 minutes
Homly is designed so that a PG, hostel or rental owner can go from signup to a working dashboard in about ten minutes. Here is the whole journey.
1. Create your account
Sign in with your Google account — there is no password to set or remember. Your first property is on the free plan: 1 property and up to 5 units, no credit card required.
2. Add your property
Give your property a name, address and type (PG, hostel, apartment or house). This becomes the container for everything else — units, tenants, payments and reports are all scoped to a property, and you can add more properties later as you grow.
3. Add units
Units are whatever you rent out: beds in a shared room, private rooms, full flats, even shops. Set the monthly rent and default security deposit on each unit. If two beds in the same room have different rents, that is fine — each unit carries its own price.
4. Onboard your tenants
Add each tenant with their name and phone number, allocate them to a unit, and record their deposit. Tenants do not need to download any app — they will get WhatsApp reminders automatically and can view their dues and receipts through a simple web link.
5. Let the automation take over
From the next due date onwards, Homly sends rent reminders over WhatsApp, tracks who has paid, reads payment screenshots with AI, and keeps a clean ledger and receipt trail per tenant.
Where to next? Read "Add your units and rooms" for unit setup in depth, or "How rent collection works" to understand the monthly cycle.
